Seventh Regiment Infantry

This regiment was originally commanded by Col. Stephan Miller of St. Paul, afterwards governor of the state, It was oraginzed in August , 1862, and ordered upon the Indian expedition that year, and engaged in the battle Wood Lake, MN. The regiment was stationed at frontier posts until May, 1863, when it was ordered upon the Indian expedition in the West under General Sibley and was engaged in batttle with the Indians July 24, 26, 28, 30 and 31 of that year.

  • Memphis, Tenn., and assigned to to the 16th Arcmy Corps, June 1864
