In April the Clubhouse kids had a very special treat when Whinny the Clown came to visit. You could hear a pin drop as she performed her "tricks", introduced Wendell--the Wonder Weasel, and told stories of Jonah and Joshua. Whinny is one of the characters of the Krazy Klowns for Christ Ministry of Luella Krieger. You can visit her website by clicking on Whinny's picture above.
We "clown around" a lot at Clubhouse. We have had several different clown ministries visit Clubhouse. Here you see "Starbrite." The children enjoy hearing God's word through His clowns.
Fun at the Clubhouse Carnival! Clubhouse hosted a Bible Land Carnival on several occasions. There were games, prizes, fun, and food!
This is the Cromer Family, missionaries to Zambia, Africa. They visited Clubhouse and told us what it is like being missionaries. Mrs. Cromer cooked us an African dinner and we ate as the Zambians do, with our hands. The food was great. We also learned to sing Jesus Loves Me in the language of Zambia.
The inkeeper from Bethlehem came to Clubhouse at Christmas. He told of the birth of the Christ Child so many years ago.
At Easter Walt Marr came to Clubhouse and through his dramatic monologue of a Roman Soldier, told the children about the happenings in Jerusalem when Jesus was crucified. We now have some idea what it would have felt like to be on Mt. Calvary the day Jesus died by seeing and hearing through the eyes and ears of "Claudius" who was there and gambled for Jesus' garments.
HALLELUJAH NIGHT, A HALLOWEEN ALTERNATIVE!
Every year Clubhouse hosts a Hallelujah Night Celebration of Jesus and invites all the community children. This is meant to be an alternative to Halloween and trick-or-treating. Kids are encouraged to wear "happy" costumes. One of the main features of Hallelujah Night is a "Walk Through the Bible" tour of live bible scenes with characters played by adults.
The children visit booths where they play games which are bible-centered. Everyone receives a prize just for playing the game. Refreshments are served and the children are given treat bags as they leave the celebration. Even the adults dress up in "happy" costumes. Here is Minnie Mouse having a wonderful time!
Hey! Who are these two guys? That's right the famous Bob and Larry from the Veggie Tales! They visit Clubhouse kids a couple times a year--the kids love them!
The theme for the 1999 Clubhouse Awards Ceremony was "Let the Little Children Come". Some of the children performed a special song written by Linda Edge and Elton Smith, (Songs of Praise), entitled "Momma, Look It's Jesus".
