I first experienced pet ferrets in the USA, where I had my first ferret, Flossie in the mid-90s. In America, ferrets were already very popular as indoor pets and a wealth of information was available for owners and would-be owners..

However, on returning to the UK the following year and getting my first English ferret, BD, I very quickly discovered that the same was not true in the UK. There was very little information available for would-be owners of pet ferrets and, the little information that was available was primarily aimed at owners of working/outdoor pet ferrets. This website, first published in 1997, aims to give owners and would-be owners of indoor pet ferrets a single source of information, advice and resources.

Things have moved along considerably in 7 years. Ferrets are steadily increasing in popularity, and more information and resources are now available.
