My Mother will be 77 years old on September 5, 1997. She has been a light in my life. She has never met a stranger, I remember all the sacrifices she made for us children. She has touched the the hearts of many people during her stay on this earth. Her favorite song is Amazing Grace. That was the first song I learned to play on my piano.

She was sitting in church one day a few years ago, as the preacher began his sermon, she had a funny feeling come over her. Her head hurt and her eye sight became blurry. She sat real still and prayed that someone would help her. One of her lady friends saw that Mother did not look right. The friend immediately came to Mother's side and took her home. From there Mother went to the hospital. She had experienced a cerebral aneurysm. The Doctor's did not give us much hope of Mother surviving the surgery. Without the grace of God, she would have left us on that day. Not only did she survive the surgery, but through many weeks of therapy she learned to talk, walk and to recognize us. We are still being blessed by her beautiful gift of giving and her beautiful smile. Thanks Mother for always being the best, loving and giving person I know. Love Carrie.
