    "Yip!" (or is it "Yipe")

Seeing as I had come to all of you with the question of Brigs and his attitude toward Kimi and me...after bringing her in to this house, I thought it only fair to keep you up-to-date on their progress.

Theirs has been a slow but gradual warming, not like Kimi and Katy at all. Kimi has tried several times to get Brigs's attention, but all he would do is turn his head and ignore her. Have any of you ever seen a 'crestfallen' sheltie before? It's heartbreakingly funny. So Kimi tried another tactic. She started going after his tail...while he was standing! Well as you can imagine....a mite sized puppy that weighs 1.5 pounds doesn't feel like much on his tail....so again she is ignored. When that didn't work she tried another trick. She started going after his feet, nipping at his toes whenever he would stand near me. Which was every time we were all out in the yard together. (Yes listers, I am finally out of the hot seat with him! LOL) All this got Kimi was ignored...but Brigs would at least move..... to the other side of me. But it did show her that she got a response from him by nipping at his toes. Guess what? Now she goes after them all the time. I know being a sheltie she is nipping by nature...and she never really connects. If you could see her in action you could tell she is truly only trying to get his attention...not hurt him or anger him. (like Brigs knows what the word ANGRY is anyway!)

But today was the best......I had to laugh at the scene she created. Picture a full grown large male Newfy laying in the ground on his chest/tummy with his chin on his paws. Then this little flea sized puppy goes before him NOSE TO NOSE....puts her chest on the ground (like she was trying to get to his level! LOL) with her butt still high in the air (well as high as a 6 inch tall puppy can get it ok?) and her tail going like crazy. As soon as Brigs looked at her (SUCCESS!) she let out a sharp "YIP" (short for yippey??) still nose to nose!! Brigs hardly batted an eye at her, instead rolling them toward me like he was saying.."Mmmoooommm get her away from me!!" Well.....that eye contact was all she got from him, but at least she got that much! Progress at last!! I had to laugh...and wonder how far backwards she would have landed had Brigs "WOOFED" back at her "YIP"???? I can hardly wait to see what she attempts tomorrow to get this big lumbering goof to make up to her. Talk about playing hard to get Brigs ...geesh!!

I will keep you posted on the continuing saga of "As the tail wags"........

Kristi ( I think Kimi is in training for the court jesters position)
Katy...(where is the little love...lemme at her!)
Brigs...(oh give me a home.......where only Newfoundlands roam....and the puppies are quiet all day. OOOOhhhhhooo)
    Kimi...!!!!!!!!!
