She was reared a Presbyterian; but in early womanhood united with the
Christian Connection. Soon after her marriage she and Father Scott
embraced the principles of the Disciples. In their house the Church of
Christ of this place was organized nearly forty years ago. Mother
Scott was a close student of the Bible, and a clear thinker; and
though reticent in public, in the home and social circle she was an
able defender of Bible truth. Many have learned from her the way of
life more perfectly. Her faith was serene and beautiful to the end.
Father Scott, who is now in his eighty-seventh year, is growing
deaf. When she became to weak to make him hear, she said to her
daughter, ``Tell father to wait until we get to heaven, and then we can
talk.''
