Wick Morgan was a major with the 15th Missouri Cavalry and in the 7th and 76th Missouri Enrolled Militia in the Civil War, according to the US Army Historical Register. These units were on the Union side of the Civil War. His granddaughter Ruth (Pang's daughter) said Wick fought in the Battles of Springfield with Maj. Charles Zagonyi.

Statements in the World Family Tree genealogy database said Wick was a Captain in the Confederate States Army, but that seems to be wrong according to the above information. A descendent also told me the family was dead set against the south.

Wick did name his twin sons Peter and Pete, strange as it sounds. Other family members have said they were known as Pete and Repete. They are buried right next to each other in Dadeville Cemetery.
