Leslie received a B.A. from Drake in 1893, and an M.A. from there in 1894. He received a Bachelor of Divinity from Yale in 1895.
He was ordained to the ministry of the Church of the Disciples at the University Place Church of Christ in Des Moines in June 1895. He was a pastor in Atlanta 1895-1899. In 1899 he moved to England and was pastor in Southampton 1899-1905 where he married, and then pastor at Hornsey, London 1905-1915. He was in munition work in London 1915-18 and YMCA secretary with the US army in London 1918-19. Leslie was with the British Army as chief of street patrols 1919-1921. He went on a speaking tour of the US about his street patrol work in 1921. He remained in London 1921-1924 but didn't work then because of his health. He went to Australia in 1924 and worked in Melbourne and other places for a year and a half.
He lived at 3 Dealtry Court, Upper Richmond Road, Putney, London.
There is an 1898 Warren Co., Iowa birth record which sounds like it could be for a child of this Leslie, but Wilma Rodger's family history and Leslie's obituary don't mention it, so apparently it wasn't this Leslie. Leslie's sister Etta and Brother Elmer lived in Warren Co. at the time. The birth record is for ``Morgan, Chastine H., male, b. 16 Sep 1898 Palmyra Twp, Mother: Ore E. Price, father L.W. Morgan.''
