She moved with her parents to Clinton Co., Iowa. In 1872 Margaret and Thomas Dunn moved to a farm in Jackson township, Crawford County, Iowa.
The first six children of Margaret and Tom Dunn all died within three weeks of each other of diptheria in 1880.
The St. John's cemetery listing shows Margaret and Thomas Dunn buried with Daniel, Joseph, and Charles. There wasn't a Daniel in Mel Foley's records or any of the censuses. Names of the Dunn family members in the 1977 Wall Lake Centennial book name the children Thomas, Daniel, Joseph, Molly, Charles, John, Clara, Leo and Josephine. As the second son, Daniel is listed where William was listed in the 1880 census, so I'm guessing they are the same person, likewise Mary and Molly.
An old Plat Map shows Maggie Lawler owning 80 acres in Section 11 of Jackson Twp, Crawford Co. (N. half of the NE quarter) and Thos. Dunn owns the 80 acres adjacent to the south (N. half of the NE quarter).
Thomas Dunn was married once before Maggie, to a Miss Haranhran (Hanrahan?). I think it was in Clinton Co., Iowa, but it wasn't explicitly stated in the obituaries. They had one son, John, who died 23 Sep 1917 in Staten Island, New York.
Tom immigrated to the US in 1856 (or 1857) and was naturalized a US citizen according the 1900 and 1910 censuses. According to the Lawler family history, Thomas immigrated about 1852 with the younger children of the John Lawlor family: Margaret, Daniel, and Fenton. They had been temporarily left with relatives in Ireland until they grew old enough to make the trip.
