Here are some more of Helen's memories of her Grandma Shannon,
recalled in 1997:
On Sundays, we always went to church in Sigourney. My grandmother
Shannon lived about 3 blocks from the old church and many times we
stopped in to see her before we went home. Several things that I
remember about her are her long hair which she wore in a bun, and her
quiet manner. She spent a lot of time crocheting to pass the time in
her later years and always enjoyed having people stop in to see her.
Mary Ferne (Morrison) Franklin (sister-in-law to Teresa's daughter Mary Teresa) also recalled the following in 1997:
I also remember Teresa Farrell Shannon. She was a typical little Irish
lady, full of fun. Regina was sort of like her mother in lots of
ways. They were neighbors of ours when I was quite young and she was
very good to me. Made a big fuss over me and I loved to go over there.

Teresa was the last surviving child of the immigrant George Farrell. She also went by the nickname ``Tessie'' (it's used in an article describing her and John's wedding).
