Unii's Coffee Cup Coaster Set Pattern
Everyone in my house loves coffee, so spills and dribbles occur often. :) I designed these coasters to keep us from warping my furniture. Let's just hope we actually use them! LOL
Materials:
Plastic Canvas: 2 sheets of 7 count Plastic Canvas
Yarn:White Blue Red Purple
Stitches Used:
Tent Stitch
Overcast and/or Whipstitch
Instructions:
Cut 4 pieces of PC 32 x 26 threads (Piece A - Coasters).
Cut 2 pieces of PC 41 x 12 threads (Piece B and C - Coaster Holder Front and Back).
Cut 1 pieces of PC 58 x 8 threads (Piece D - Coaster Holder Bottom)
Cut all 7 pieces out as indicated on the patterns. To make things easier, on the Coasters and the Coaster Holder Front and Back, I mark the pattern to cut with a dry erase marker. I cut the first one out, then, using it as a pattern, I lay the cut one on top of the uncut one. Using an Exacto Knife, I cut any of the duplicates that I need.
Stitch the four Coasters (Pieces A) as illustrated on the pattern. Overcast edges in white. Making sure to overcast inside of coffee cup handle as well.
Next, stitch the Coaster Holder Front (Piece B) and Back (Piece C) as shown in the pattern, ONLY overcasting the top edges with white.
Then, stitch the Coaster Holder Bottom (Piece D) as shown in the pattern, ONLY overcasting the short edges with white.
Finally, whipstitch/overcast stitch the Bottom (Piece D) to the Front (Piece B), then attach the Back (Piece C) to the Bottom (Piece D), in the same fashion.
