Dear Brother & Sister

I have once more met with the opportunity of writing you a few lines to inform you of our health and situation we are all well at present and also hope that these few lines may find you all enjoying the same inestimable blessing.

I wrote to you last June and I have never received any answer yet from you since. I would be very glad to hear from you all and I have not received any letter from you nor James "L". Polk in a long time. I want you both to write as soon as possible after receiving my letter and also write whether any of you ever intends to come out here to live or not. I would be very glad if you would come I know you could do better out here than you can there and have your health a great deal better and get land a great deal cheaper you could make as much again here as you can there and with less work of cotton, corn, wheat and oats. You could make the trip in about twentyfive days by starting in October your expences would not be much I would rejoice if I could know that some of you would move here or somewhere in this western country. I own two tracts of land here I like this country very well and it double as well I do that but I had rather live in the Southern part of Arkansas or in Texas than to live here but I do not expect to move there soon though I may in the course of two years. I can make lots here.

I want you to write to me where James Calvin and William is and what they are doing and tell them that I want to see them very bad. So nothing nothing more of importance only Uncle Job lost one of his daughters some two or three weeks ago they supposed she died with the consumption she was some fourteen years old. The rest of his family is all well as far as I know at present so I must come to a close but I want you to write to me as soon as this comes to hand

Your affectionate Brother

Elijah Falkner

P.S.

I have one the finest Boys you ever saw come all the way from Chickasaw his name is Robert Asa Falkner
