This was a time-killer. I had to drop a couple of movies off at my local Blockbuster by noon, and I was scheduled to start work at 3:30. I meandered until running into a movie theatre where I decided to see a movie until my work day was to begin. "The Skulls" was the only one that would allow me to get to work on time, so I plunked down my $5 and settled in. Not only did I kill time, but I also totally wasted it, as well.
You see, a secret society has been set up on campus of a certain Ivy League school for the past 150 years or so. This Society is so secret that everyone attending the school seems to have heard of it and know a fair amount about this secret Society. The "trouble" begins when a poor kid who rows boats very well gets an invite from the Secret Society in front of his roommate - apparently the only African-American on the entire campus - and the poor kid's possible love interest. Questions are asked, people are accidentally, then intentionally murdered, car windows are broken, drool is drooled, Yapphet Kotto is roughed up by Josh Jackson - you know, the usual.
Kingpin of all of it is the Craig Nelson character who's the, um... head Skull about to be appointed to some important office. He doesn't want anything getting in his way, including the ingrate Jackson character. Luckilly, Joshua has some friends that are High School drop-outs who steal cars, live in a nicely appointed lair complete with about 10 monitors on one wall, and have the latest in espionage and spy technology at their disposal. Yes, all high school drop-outs have these things laying around - right under their stash of marijuana. It's just that, why go any further than the stash?
The scenarios are unbelievable, the characters too fabricated. The saddest part, though, was that as I was leaving, I found about 20 girls in back joyously cheering the film. I cried for them...

David says no thanks.
