Monica:  The Gift that keeps on Giving

For those of you who don't live in Baton Rouge, you might be a little miffed about this article.  But I've got to get it off my chest.  This week, Monica Lewinsky hit our town on her book-signing, radio interviewing tour and the whole town has been bitten by Monica Mania.  Here's my take on the new craze...

A pop-culture phenomenon is sweeping this country with an efficiency not seen since Beatlemania.  Citizen after citizen is buying her books, shopping at the Gap, and watching every time she appears on TV.  People look to her choice of hats, lipstick, and purse.  Then they go out and buy them to be "just like her".  I don't know about you, but of all the people I want to emulate, some floozy who happened to hook the President isn't my ideal choice.

It's not all, her fault I admit.  She had lots of help from news media outlets burned out from Princess Diana and JonBenet Ramsey.  Something had to fill the time until some Colorado kids shot up the school.  And who other than the biggest hussy this country has ever known.

But America's love affair with this troll escapes me.  But then again, so does the popularity of this president.  I guess it all goes together.  If all you're looking for in a world leader is virility and a large vocabulary, Clinton's your man.   If you want someone who's going to diddle the help and then blame it on Republicans, Bill is the guy for you.  How bout leadership and dignity?  Keep looking...

I know this article is short, because you don't want to hear anymore about this over-hyped chick than I do.  But the word must go out.  STOP BUYING HER BOOK!!!   STOP PAYING ATTENTION TO HER!!! Then we can get back to the important things in this country, like who killed Nicole Simpson... 1
