Xena: Closed Captioned for the Humor Impaired

  • 03-16-98

You can now read all about Forget Me Not. Well, at least all that I put down here. There's not much this week since finals are approaching at break neck pace and well I just don't have time to think of anything witty. Plus, my brain's pretty much fried. But there's a lot of quotes to compensate you.

    Quotes Worthy of Bardliness
One Scroll Short of a Scroll Case:
"The High Priestess was right. The gates are open, but no one's storming the castle."
    --Joxer (Forget Me Not)

This is going to take longer than we thought:
"It was a warm day in Poteidaia when the bard awoke. As she moved softly through the-"
    "Excuse me, what's a Poteidaia?"
--Joxer & Gabrielle (Forget Me Not)

    The Mystical BGSB:
"It's very strange. In every story you tell me, this thing I'm wearing gets smaller. Is it enchanted?"
"Uh yeah, they are.. it is."
--Joxer & Gabrielle (Forget Me Not)

    If Only We Could:
"Hey, aren't you forgetting about me?"
"No, Joxer. Not even Mnemosyne could help her with that."
--Joxer & Xena (Forget Me Not)

Ever have a headache so painful you wish you were dead?:
    "How'd you know my name?"
    "I have your memories. Owww"
--Joxer & the High Priestess of Mnemosyne (Forget Me Not)

Painful Memories or Just a Pain in the Neck. You decide:
"Pain is just nature's way of saying, 'HEY! You're alive.'"
    --Ares (Forget Me Not)

    Mnemosyne's Mercantile:
"You could open a pottery shop."
    --Gabrielle (Forget Me Not)

    Miscellany:

    Beam Me Up, Ares
Well, that explains how Gabrielle reached Chin before Xena; she took the Ares Commuter Express.

    Payback's a Bitch
Geez! When these two get revenge, they get revenge. And I thought they get angry when some evil thug messes with their friends, but when they are against each other--watch out! (Ref. The Bitter Suite and the new revelation in The Debt as seen in Forget Me Not)

Sometimes a Staff is Just a Staff
Looks like Xena is trying out the Freud thing after she hears Gabrielle talking in her sleep during one of her nightmares. But does Xena know yet why Gab betrayed her? It was afterall, in Gabrielle's memory vision trip. Hmm... owing a favor to Ares...having bad vibes about the lies... I sense a follow-up episode coming up.

"No, no it's over. Welcome home."
But is it? Like I said earlier, does Xena know the real reason Gabrielle betrayed her in Chin? Maybe Gabby said it in her sleep, or she'll tell Xena later. But we don't know. Hmm.. the mind boggles.
