this is (obviously) the ever-so important FAQ section of LOEBWORLD. here you'll be able to familiarize yourself with the inner workings and the complexities that make up our LISA, and -- hopefully -- you'll come closer to understanding the joy, the passion, the psychology, and the socio-economic impact of the cultural phenomemon known as LISA LOEB. ahem. yeah. uhh .. anyway .. the first half of this section is made up of "quick LISA facts," and is fairly self-explanatory (and horribly incomplete), while the second half is more of a "Q and A" type section, where i try to answer questions that people have emailed to me ..

A: historically, LISA LOEB has gone through countless names and personas, and it would be almost *impossible* to list all of them here. for the sake of answering your question, however, a few of her aliases include .. "anyuu sei," the mythological chinese girl who only heard what she wanted to .. the mungungewetoktok tribe's "isala obola" (or, "mother bearer of tiny cats") .. "hurricanrana," mexico's "light-headed wonder" .. "lobogitaros," the lute-totin' greek goddess of vision and personal well-being .. and "the loeber," a name christened to her by respected philosopher, craig kilborn. most of this will be covered in the "supernatural" section of the site, if i ever get around to writing it ..

Q: does LISA share her birthday with anyone famous? (c. george, SACRAMENTO)
A: LISA shares her birthday with bobby mcferrin (jazz musician), rupert murdoch (zillionaire), sam donaldson (android), lawrence welk (jazz bandleader, tv show host), and nina hartley ("actress").

Q: i'm the hugest tom jones fan, and am going to my very first LISA LOEB show next week. is it commonplace for fans to throw their glasses on stage while she's performing? (victoria s., UNDISCLOSED LOCATION)
A: to the best of my knowledge .. no. there's a fairly good chance you might hit LISA in the head while she's singing, and that's generally Not a Good Thing. i would also expect that, having flung your glasses on stage, you'd probably have the damndest time finding your car in the parking lot. so while it seems like a novel, and very flattering idea .. i'd have to advise against it.

Q: will LISA LOEB's music help my plants grow? (p. isley, NEW JERSEY)
A: absolutely. botannical studies in florida have shown that exposure to the "firecracker" album increased girth, root structure, growth rate, color, and resistance to poisons in several different species of plants. and what's even more amazing is the fact that after a week's worth of experimenting, the test subjects exhibited simple motor skills and could even solve basic mathematic equations. it should be noted, however, that near the end of the experiment, the plants became physically and abusively hostile whenever the music was stopped, so, uhm .. while you *can* use LISA's music to help your plants grow .. just don't overdo it. LISA's music is pretty potent stuff ..

A: im really not sure .. ive been meaning to send a question to LISA through the lisa loeb net for some time now, but haven't thought of anything worth asking. for some reason, though, i'm dying to know what the prescription for her glasses is ..
