HEADLINES
what? me LISA?
LISA LOEB is scheduled to appear on FOX's MADtv this saturday,
september 25th (check your local tv schedule for show times
and stations!!) i'm not too sure about the extent of her role on the program, so i'll "cut'n'paste" my tv show description and let you figure it out ..
"Guest Lisa Loeb sings the theme song for "Pretty White Kids With Problems"; a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a
Britney Spears video."
wow .. even i couldn't have made up something that
cool. hopefully i can get my vcr to tape it for me, and hopefully, i'll get the screencaps up by monday ..
the fall of LISA LOEB
the long-awaited "anywhere but here" soundtrack (featuring "i
wish") hits your
local
nationwide conglomerate music-chain store on october 12th, and
the never-really-expected "friends 2" soundtrack (featuring
"summer") hits shelves on
november 2nd. while all of this hitting is normally a bad
thing, this time around it's actually great for us, as
we're treated to *two* brand-new LISA LOEB songs to hold us off
til the next album. personally, i hope the "friends" disc has an
extended version of phoebe's
"fetus" song in it, cause that song ruled like no other.
also, VH1 will be airing lisa's performance at the sundance film
festival on september 14th. a cd of that performance (an
acoustic version of "falling in love") will then be sold
exclusively at starbucks through october 27th, and then finally
through regular retail outlets (for "regular" people) on
november 2. from what i remember, the disc also has jill sobule,
abra moore, duncan sheik, eagle eye cherry, and blondie, and
sounds very promising ..
anyway, most of this came straight from the official LISA LOEB
site, so if any information is wrong, it's their
fault, not mine.

oh you didn't know? adding fuel to the rumor that LISA LOEB is planning her return to professional wrestling, acclaim sports features lisa as a playable hidden character in their "wwf attitude" video game. while details are sketchy regarding the game, or regarding lisa's participation in the .. err .. "sport," we at LOEBWORLD have come across EXCLUSIVE images (see below) that may shed some light on lisa headlining the wwf's next "wrestlemania" event. we'll keep you posted!!
life begins on page 80
the september '99 issue of "movieline" magazine (with sharon
stone on the cover) spotlights a one-page sssssexy interview with
LISA LOEB. she talks about everything from cough syrup to "hello
kitty" vibrators, and if that alone doesn't make you run
out and buy the magazine, i have No Frickin' Idea what
will.
LISA III
lisa is currently working on a follow-up to "firecracker," due ..
uhh .. anytime between right now and the end of this year.
or early next year. or maybe even some time after that. at
any rate, she'll be on the soundtrack to a movie called "anywhere
but here," starring susan sarandon and natalie portman ("my peepo
ah DAH-yeeng, senatah!!"), with a brand new song called "i wish
(anywhere but here)" .. you can go to jammer's lisa loeb
shrine if you want to see the lyrics to the song, or if you
want to read more about it ..
two jars and a loeb in a robe?
the internet is buzzing over rumors that LISA LOEB has been asked
to play the much-hyped "female jedi" in star wars: episode two.
while no one can confirm or deny these rumors, a lucasfilms
insider had this to say, at a recent press conference: "what
we're looking for is someone with the presence and the aura of a
well-trained jedi knight. we've got a choice list of candidates
right now, but cannot say for certain who will be cast at this
time." the insider added, "we are, however, very impressed
with lisa's natural ability to levitate objects with her mind ..
in the long run, that should save us a lot of money on pointless
special effects." more on this shocking situation as it
develops!!
LISA-MANIA "pearl harbors" japan!!
the third annual "Go! Lisa! Heart!" concert -- a
star-studded tribute to LISA LOEB -- went off without a hitch
last sunday in tokyo, japan, grossing an estimated 74.2 million
dollars in ticket sales and LISA LOEB-related merchandise.
pre-teen pop sensations "plastic" wowed concertgoers with their
loeb-inspired dance routines, and performances by kenji niku, aji
nomoto, david hasselhoff, and peppy techno-faves "OKAY!"
electrified the crowd and left them begging for more. however,
the highlight of the evening had to be the very emotional set by
minako daimune, dubbed "japan's answer to the international
success of celine dion." there wasn't a dry eye in the tokyo dome
as she closed the show with a heartfelt, japanese-language
rendition of "stay," accompanied only by her taiko drum and
ailing grandfather, famed magician "skebei" daimune. after a
numbing ten minute applause, a teary-eyed minako asked the
audience to "drive home safely," and to please buy her new cd.
you go, minako, and we'll see you again next year!!
ganbatte!!
