Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  The movie was decent when I was 10 but the cartoon is still 1,000,000 times better.  **1/2

The Ten Commandments.  This older movie starring Charlton Heston is a timeless classic. It has great special effects for the time period it was made during.  It traces the life of Moses from his days in Egypt to leading the Hebrews to Promised Land.  It is on ABC every year around Easter and you should definatly check it out.  *****

That Thing You Do.  I thought this movie was going to be really boring.  I was wrong.  Tom Hanks and Liv Tyler star in this movie about a Beatlesque band a few decades back.  This was a funny movie with great characters.  ***1/2

There's Something about Mary. This movie was really funny if you have a sick sense of humor. I thought it was funny. Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller were both good and Matt Dillon was hilarious. If you want to laugh, see this movie. ****1/4

The Thin Red Line.  This was a lousy movie.  Lame battle scenes.  All of the promised stars (Clooney, Travolta, and Harrelson) were in the film but only for a total of around 5 minutes.  Sean Penn turns in a good performance that is pretty much the only good part of this movie.  Don't waste your time; go see Saving Private Ryan!  **1/2

Titantic. I thought it was a good movie with fabulous special effects, but a predicatble, lame, overrated love story. I don't think it was worth all the hype and the Oscar's were right when they didn't nominate DiCaprio. ****1/4

Tommy Boy.  In my opinion the funniest Chris Farley movie. Farley and Spade must travel to sell parts for Callahan Motors.  The hilarious David Spade and Dan Akroyd also star in this outrageously funny movie.   ****

Toy Story. While watching this movie with my younger nephews I realized that this was actually a very entertaining movie, even though it is a kid's movie. It has great characters and a good story the kiddies will love. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen provide the voices for the two main characters. *****

The Truman Show.  Jim Carrey plays Truman Burbank a man who as a child was adopted by a corporation.  His life is broadcast 24 / 7 to the world from his dome which looks just like a real city.  Truman gets suspicious and tries to escape. This was a good movie, but it wasn't great.  Carrey did a good job in a more serious role than we are accustomed to seeing him.  The story is really interesting, and this movie provides solid entertainment but it isn't great. ***1/2
