     Again in February the 10th renewed their concentration on transportation targets. Airfields at Mingaladon, Nyaungbinwan and Myitkyina were attacked on the 1st, along with Radhapur storage depot northwest of Myitkyina. On the 2nd the targets were bridges at Akyab and along the Prome-Taungup road, shipping at Akyab, the motor pool and repair depot at Shingban, and encampments at Sawnghka, Kumnyen and Lalawng Ga. Airfields at Heho, Aungbang, Sagaing and Myittha were hit along with the marshalling yards at Wuntho on the 5th, with the airfields at Heho coming in for special attention with three strikes, and Aungban with two strikes. On the 6th P-51s struck at warehouses and freight cars at Wuntho, and a single B-25 bombed the motor pool at Sumprabum on the 7th. The 8th saw attacks on bridges at Budalin and Songon, the stronghold at Badana camps at Mogaung and Kumnyen, and railroad cars northwest of Myitkyina. On the 9th more than 75 sorties were flown against bivouac and supply areas in the Mogaung-Loilaw area, bivouac and buildings at Pyindaw, camps at Kumnyen, Maingkwan and Shingban, storage and bivouac areas on the Mogaung-Kamaing road, and a bridge over the Namtamng River neat Maingkwan. B-24s hit the Ban Mah arsenal and Don Maung Airfield at Bangkok on the 10th, other targets hit that day included Prome, Akyab, Chiradan, Godusara and the barracks and road at Chishidu. The 11th saw raids on supply areas at Sawghka, Pyindaw, and Mogaung along with a river steamer and launch in the Mandalay-Shwebo area. Raids against the town of Ransa, convoys south of Sumprabum, bivouacs at Walawbum and Padaw, the motor pool at Padaw, a storage area and road junction near Chishidu, Chishidu itself, camps near Tsumhpawng Ga, and Walawbum, a storage are and motor pool south of Kamaing, a convoy on the Myitkyina-Sumprabum road, the town of Namting, and bridges at Meza and Kanni were staged on the 12th. On the 13th a bridge and 2 warehouses in the Wuntho are, the ssupply are and radio installations south of Kamaing, bivouacs south of Walawbum, the road and railroad junction north of Sahmaw, a bivouac north of Kamaing, and a camp between Tsumhpawng Ga and Walawbum were hit; during the night, B-24s hit Heho Airfield. The 14th was a busy day for the P-51s and A-36s of the 10th with 70 sorties flown against against a variety of targets in Burma: the supply area at Shingban, a truck convoy N of Maingkwan, supply dumps and motor transport in the Kamaing area, a bivouac near Mogaung, troop and vehicle concentrations between Mogaung and Kamaing, artillery positions at Lawan Ga, and railroad station and warehouses at Lundaung were all hit. P-40s, P-51s, and A-36s bombed and strafed targets in Burma again on the 15th, including the rice mill and radio station at Waingmaw, targets of opportunity along the Hukawng-Walawbum road, the motor pool and dumps at Kamaing, troops and supplies at Padi-Ga, and a canal bridge at Ye-U; in addition P-40s dropped land mines at Nampaung. On the 16th supply dumps, troop concentrations and encampment areas at Myitkyina, Kamaing, Tonkin and Walawbum were attacked, along with railway locomotives at Kyaingkwin. Troops and supplies from Lonkin to Kamaing, supply area along the roads around Lonton and Manywet, a road junction near Maingkwan, a road bridge, railroad station and rail cars at Pyingaing, and a bridge near Ye-u were attacked on the 17th. Bridges near Ye-u, Pyingaing, and along the Mu River, bivouacs north of Laban, supply and troop concentrations at Waingmaw, a radio station and supply area near Kamaing, and gun emplacements south east of Taihpa Ga were hit on the 18th. On the 19th more than 60 A-36s and P-51s and a few B-25s hit a variety of targets in Burma; targets included fuel and supply dumps at Manywet and in the Shaduzup area, the Tonkin-Kansi road and a junction W of Manywet, the Mu River bridge at Ye-u, railroad cars and tracks, locomotives, and river traffic between Monywa and Natyekan and between Alon and Segyi; rail and road traffic in the Bhamo and Hukawng Valley-Kamaing areas is also hit. Bad weather on the 20th limited activity to a single routine patrol over Sumprabum. On the 21st a command post at Shingban, the town of Mohnyin, a bridge at Loilaw, a camp at Shaduzup, two bridges at Namkwin, warehouses at Kawlin and Wuntho, and a tunnel on the Maungdaw-Buthidaung road were bombed. Bridges at Zawa, Tindeinyan, Ye-u, Namkwin and Loilaw were hit on the 22nd along with warehouses and supply dumps at at Segyi and Chantha, the Pahok road and railroad junction and targets of opportunity at Kawlum and on the Walawbum-Kamaing road. The 23rd saw B-24s bombing airfields and other targets at Akyab and Dabaing, B-25s and P-51s hitting a radio station at Man Pang, and warehouses at Chantha. B-25s hit bridges and trains between Pyintha and Kinu, B-24s bombed the marshalling yard at Mandaly and targets of opportunity at Akyab, Monywa and Pakokku and P-51s, A-36s and P-40s attacked bridges, radio stations supply dumps, bivouacs, troop concentrations, railroad by-passes, anti-aircraft positions and other targets at Seton, Sinkan, Ye-u, Kawlin, Loilaw, Namkwan, Shaduzup and the Mogaung-Kamaing are on the 24th. The next day B-25s and P-51s attacked the bridges at Meza, Sinthe and Natmauk causing light damage to the bridges, but destroying 3 locomotives and several railroad cars. On the 26th the focus was again on bombing bridges with attacks against those at Ye-u, Bawgyo and Tantabin causing damage to all three; in addition raids were carried out against railroad targets at Tangon, Namyao and Pyintha. Ammunition dumps near the Kamaing-Walawbum road, warehouses, bridges, power facilities and targets of opportunity in the Ye-u and Tindeinyan areas were hit on the 27th. On the 28th B-25s hit bridges and trains between Pyintha and Kinu, B-24s bombed the marshalling yards at Mandaly along with targets of opportunity at Akyab, Monywa and Pakokku, P-51s, A-36s and P-40s attacked bridges, radio stations, supply dumps, bivouacs, troop concentrations, railroad by-passes, anti-aircraft positions and other targets at Seton, Sinkan, Ye-u, Kawlin, Loilaw, Namkwin, Shaduzup and the Mogaung-Kamaing areas. The 10th ended the month with raids on bridges near Taungtha, Myingyan, Kawlin, Ye-u, Panaing and Mahlaing; a radio station at Sinkan; a supply area near Seton, the railroad station at Myitkyina, and supply and camp areas at Pagoda Peak near Mogaung.

During February of 1944 the following unit movements, transfers and changes took place:

The 59th Fighter Squadron, 33rd Fighter Group arrived at Karachi from Italy on the 12th. The 59th was equipped with P-47D Thunderbolts.

HQ 443rd Troop Carrier Group was transferred from the US to Sylhet, India on the 15th without personnel or equipment. The 1st, 2nd, and 27th Troop carrier Squadrons, already in the CBI theater were assigned to the 443rd.

The 118th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron arrived at Gushkara from the US with P-51s on the 16th.

The 58th Fighter Squadron, 33rd Fighter Group arrived at Karachi from Italy equipped with P-47Ds on the 18th.

HQ, 33rd Fighter Group and 60th Fighter Squadron arrived at Karachi equipped with P-47Ds on the 20th.

The 91st Fighter Squadron, 81st Fighter Group arrived at Karachi from Italy equipped with P-47Ds on the 25th.
