| | During January the 10th concentrated its efforts on transportation targets in an effort to halt the flow of supplies to advancing Japanese troops. The railroad bridge at Myitnge was hit on the 1st, 10th, and 25th. Truck convoys moving along the Burma Road were attacked on the 2nd, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th. The railroad yards in Mandalay were bombed on the 4th, causing fires that were visible 70 miles away. The railroad lines in Mandalay were again the target on the 16th, 17th and 25th. Rail targets in Naba received attention on the 4th and 25th, on the 7th Mangshih was hit: storage facilities in the Bhamo area were bombed from the 7th through the 11th, and again on the 15th. Barge traffic on the Irawaddy River was the target on the 7th, Watugyi and Nsopzup were hit on the 8th, with Wanling and Loiwing coming under fire on the 9th. B-24s of the 10th hit shipping targets in the Rangoon area on the 15th, also hit on that date were Nsopzup and targets of opportunity at Taipha Ga, and Yupbang Ga. Elements of the CATF hit Lashio on the 16th (their last raid before being grounded by a fuel shortage for 33 days), with IATF planes hitting railroad lines at Sagaing-Ye-u on the 16th and 17th. Monywa and Maymyo were both bombed on the 17th, with Kamaing being hit on the 18th. On the 19th B-24s hit railroad lines in Thazi, Burma, with a second flight carrying out photo reconnaissance at Kanchanaburi, Thailand before bombing the docks at Bassein on their return trip to India, also hit was Kamaing. On the 22nd P-40's of the IATF bombed and strafed targets in the Nsopzup area. The 492nd Bomb Squadron mounted their first mission on the 24th hitting the docks at Rangoon with a nine plane raid, at the same time P-40s were hitting ammunition stores in Shaduzup, Burma. Rangoon was again bombed on the 25th and 26th, also on the 26th Shaduzup, Meza and Naba came under attack.
The 9th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron moved from Chakulia to Pandaveswar on the 3rd
The 490th and 491st Bomb Squadrons (M) moved from Karachi to Ondal on the 5th. Also on the 5th the 493rd Bomb Squadron (H) moved from Karachi to Pandaveswar.
On the 20th, the 75th Fighter Squadron transferred from Chanyi to Yunnani, China.
