Annie is our first Whippet and has completely won us over to the joys of living with this wonderful, versatile breed. There is no sweeter, gentler, more loving dog in the world than Annie, but put a lure (or better yet live game) in front of her and she becomes a hunting machine. In her prime, she was a grade A oval track runner who won 5 race meets and finished her Supreme Oval Race Champion title. She was an excellent lure courser as well with tremendous endurance and agility, winning Best of Breed at the 1992 Region 8 Invitational over the top Whippets in the country and winning her stake at the ASFA International Invitational the same year. At nearly 8, she has slowed down some, but she still loves to run and took BOB on Sunday at the 1998 Grand National in Colorado from the Veteran Stake. Annie was bred once, to Leila Downen's handsome William, DC Paris Say You Will LCM. She had one puppy, Niles, who was tragically stricken with systemic lupus erythematosus and lost to us in July 2002.

Nefret is a joy. She has a sweet, loving personality and is angelically good. She is also very fast! Her beautiful dam Sinner is one of my favorite Whippet bitches of all time and her sire Bengal is a handsome, fast and sweet dog who is now the #1 lifetime NOTRA Whippet. Thanks so much, Sue, for sharing her with me and for all your help and support!! Nefret started racing in earnest in the fall of 2002 and finished her Whippet Racing Champion (WRCh) title on July 5, 2003 at JRRWA's WRA meet in Delaware. Nefret is my first WRCh and I am so proud of her! Nefret currently has 2 ORC points plus 1 national point earned at the TWA NOTRA on November 23, 2003. We will be concentrating now on finishing her ORC title.

Here are two photos of Nefret racing in Massachusetts in October (thanks to Donna Rotman and Dan O'Connell for these great pictures!) She is in the number 4 blanket:

Pippin joined our family in late July 2001. He's a real character with a fun loving personality and tremendous lure drive. I hope to have more photos and a pedigree available soon. Pippin began his coursing career in March 2002 and quickly picked up the 20 points necessary to qualify for the International Invitational in April. At the I.I., he placed third in his open flight on Sunday and in June finished his ASFA Field Champion title. He has all his points and 2 placements for his LCM.
Pippin is probably the cleverest dog I've ever owned and his exploits are becoming legend among my family and friends. From opening refrigerators to unlocking windows, there isn't much he can't figure out how to do! Think a combination of Harry Houdini and Albert Einstein and you have the idea.
