Much has happened since last December. Let's see... A young Australian Shepherd mix (we named him "Dude") showed up & we found him a home with a family that lives in the country, not far from us. Sorry no picture of him, he came & left so quick. I'll go by & check on him & get a picture for a later update.

Hillary
Next a neighbor called us to see if we would take in a pot belly pig. Apparently a man she works with had to find a home for his families crippled 7 year old "Hillary". Yep, we've got her. The owners live in town & she was now @ about 100lbs & rooting away their yard. Anyway, they drove up in a nice little mini-van & Hillary was helped out and moved in with Wilbur. Well, of course he fell in love right away, so they are separated, but can nuzzle through the fence. Wilbur is going to be neutered, soon.

One day while I was at the vet (for one reason or another), I over heard a tech mention that they weren't able to find a home for "Priscilla" & that they were going to have to "put her down" tomorrow. Like that's going to happen. We've got her, had her spade (she was current on shots & negative for heartworm). They only charged us 1/2 price, AND we've already found her a home. We did change her name to "Freeway". She was found running down one, & Kathy (the vet's office administrator) came up with it & it stuck. We have already found a home for Freeway.

Crosby
Remember my neighbor that recommended we take in Hillary, we'll her next door neighbor had a hound show up at her house... They talked & thought "I know someplace that will take him". "Crosby" croons like "Bing". Well, obviously not as nice as Bing... He's about 1 year old & he'll go to the vet next week to be checked for heartworm. Anyone need a hunting dog?

A friend called & said she was helping out a family that had lost their home, through financial difficulties-due to health reasons. They gave away one of their dogs & were hoping to keep "Lexie" a 3 year old Husky mix, until they can get back into a house (they're in an apt. for now). Well, we figured we needed to build another pen anyway. BUT, she showed up positive for heart worm. So, we "made a deal" if Jan (the friend) would keep Lexie through the treatment period, we would pay to have her treated & then bring her to the ranch when she was had a clean bill of health. (She was spayed as a young pup). Lexie
