CAT TREATMENT
Shelters are as important to feral cats as food and water. Shelters keep cats warm and dry in the winter months. If there is no existing shelter, then one must be built. The shelters should be insulated with waterproof covers and then lined with newspaper. Add wood chips and fill with straw or hay.
Food and Water Clean food and fresh water must be provided on a daily basis. Caretakers may find automatic feeders helpful. Cat food can sometimes be obtained at cost from your local pet store or grocery.Unfortunately cats cannot fend for themselves in the wild.
All vaccinations are given to any trapped cat. A 3 year Rabies vaccine is preferred, to minimize handling. SAVES, Inc. does not pay for vet care or medicines except in cases of emergency as agreed to by our Board.
