Death is an engineering problem
"To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."
-From Ulysses by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
I signed up on 02/20/98 01:23:45 on a whim and now strive to be your favorite source for robotics, artificial intelligence, original science fiction, inspiration, next-generation ideas, poetry, and artwork, and the most comprehensive guide to rail transit, railroad educational resources, skyscrapers, and environmental living.
I have taken the name Rayden Tron to describe my true essence. It honors
Rayden, the Mortal Kombat character and the Japanese god of thunder and
lightning, protector of nature and Earth, ancient, wise, and dedicated, and
Tron, of the 1982 movie, the sentient computer program, protector of
technology, young, ambitious, and fiercely loyal.
I do not look like them.
I am a pushing-30 railroad employee and independent scholar. I aspire to
continue in the tradition of researcher/writers like
Dr.Hans Moravec,
Marvin Minsky, and the immortal
Carl Sagan, who was an inspiration to millions, if not
billions and billions.
You can catch some of them in action in a sample of
"Marillion's Tale: A New Beginning"
or in the overview and the character profile page.
I am currently seeking a publisher.
Also, Fans and Members of Delphi's Galaxy Force role playing game, check out Dark Star Mercenary Jarodnyk's Home Page or the Tarrason Central Home Page . Tarrason Central is especially dear to me as it was inspired by Project AVATAR (see below), a dream that strives toward life.

Inspiration didn't work? Go to Rayden Tron's Original Humor Page for thoughtful, relatively clean laughs.
One of the worst things I can think of that can happen to a culture is a failure of imagination, a narrowing of the possible, a shrinking of vision, and the exclusion of the forward thinkers. It means a slow, lurching, often painful, but sure death. Don't let this happen to you. Major changes are going to happen to humanity within the next 50 years, including the breakup of what was one intelligent species into many. Which branch will you be on? Dare to ride the lightning! The events of September 11th have presented perhaps the most severe challenge yet to those of us who wish to forge ahead and push the envelope. Most of our backers, those in the population not well versed in science but willing to give the benefits of our work a try, are running scared. Collapsing buildings and invisible spores are a tragedy for thousands but an example for millions. Rather than letting us put our noses to the grindstone to solve these specific problems, it seems they would rather cower, "lay low" literally.
Again, I cannot stand by and watch the next generation of great ideas be slowly starved to death. Project AVATAR was forged in this well of hope and thoughts. I seek to give life, and these children of mine will protect others and show them the way to a better future, the only way proven to work.
The motivation for Project AVATAR began with a simple burst of poetic inspiration..in my efforts to tap into the feelings of others I ended up reaching a totally new level of awareness.
Tears for Twin Brothers : the poem.
Skyscraper Spirit: The Soul of New York : the Project AVATAR manifesto, why we must go forward.
Protecting the Next Generation : the "better" in "bigger and better", an AI-based solution to restoring public confidence in the great onward, and upward march of civilization.
Dare to Dream : An open letter to the Municipal Arts Society's Imagine New York Project which gives a whole spectrum of reasons, from the practical to the spiritual, to nurture the great spark of life and hope which Project AVATAR embodies.
A Wish for my Country: Written as an op-ed which no newspaper dared to publish. Some newspapers would outright prefer that we wallow in dysfunctional grief and sadness. After this country damn near tore itself apart in the Civil War it did not wallow in its suffering for long even though there were much better reasons to do just that.
Project AVATAR is in essence a blueprint for new life. World Trade Center aside, AVATAR technology will be applicable to a wide range of large buildings. For more detail on the technology, architecture, and setup involved in how an AVATAR would work, check Project AVATAR System Overview

A second poem, a mark of my progress and devotion, was written at Chicago RealComm 2003. The journey has just begin as I return to college in hopes of obtaining a Professional Engineers' license and continue to manage Project AVATAR as a startup. Why not share this journey with me?

Greetings to my fellow future Techno Sapien, Atomic Knight, now available at The Atomic Knights
Lawnmowers are a blight
Box-houses an open scar upon the Earth
Cars like vermin streaming forth from the underground
Strip malls like carcasses fouling a field
Just let there be meadows
Ponds for the frogs and the fish
Berries to feed the birds
Wild flowers on which butterflies alight
Cure yourselves of the disease of suburbanism
Cross out its messages from your heart
Open your mind, listen to nature
We are not separate
They say you must have a big house
They say you must fill it
With stuff bled, torn from the land
Which later you will call clutter
Do you need new fashions every season?
The cardinal and the bluejay never change their looks
The ladybug neither wears makeup
Nor carries a pocketbook crammed with crap
The beaver does not build more than he needs
The bee does not visit malls
Turn your back on suburban life
And the filth it offers
Derive without forever destroying
Learn that poisons have no name
Find the line between convenience and laziness
Respect your non-human neighbors
We do not necessarily know more than they
Their lives may be fragile
Yet are stronger than ours
Take in knowledge from all around you
It is there waiting
To tread lightly
Is to walk in beauty

Whenever I hit bottom, wondering if it's worth it to continue, a new wellspring opens up and I carry on. I carry on.
