STORIES AND INFORMATION My Nudist Background My Home Nudism Skinnydipping, July '99 Nude Walks & Bike Riding Running in the Rain! My Own "Naked Mile" Laws and Morals Nudism vs. Streaking My Letters to Ann Landers My Letter to Dear Abby Sources of Nudism Studies Bras and Breast Health Nudist Family Behavior Reduce & Reuse: Simple Living Maps to Naturist Resorts in SW MI Books and Movies with Nudity YAHOO Naturist Groups Southwest Michigan Naturists Adventure Naturists Naturist NW OH and SE MI Nudists Stop Segregation (of nudists) Index of Yahoo Nudist/Naturist Groups (Warning: some of the groups in this index are of a sexual nature and do not respresent the actions and philosophies of the naturist lifestyle. Most have an automated "adult content" warning when entering, even with the most family-friendly of groups; that is due to Yahoo policy and does not mean that particular group or nudism/naturism have anything to do with pornography or sex. For some reason Yahoo doesn't give the option to view a list of all the groups in a particular category so you'll have to use the search feature with keywords of what you're looking for.) |
I will say right from the start that nudism
or naturism IS NOT ABOUT SEX. If you
come here looking for sexually stimulating
text or pictures, you've come to the wrong
place. Nudism (or naturism; the two
terms can basically be used interchangeably)
is about complete acceptance of one's own
body, and those of other people, as good
and beautiful. It is about being comfortable
in the body's natural state, and promotes
healthy family values. The nude body
is not shameful, lewd, obscene, ugly, or
any other similar term that is often associated
with it, and there is no sensible or logical
argument that it should be. For anybody who is thinking of trying a social nude situation--whether a beach, resort, or around the pool with friends--and you're still feeling a little bit of anxiety about it, I'll relate my first-time experience. Over the past several years and especially 1999, with various activities being nude by myself (including some wonderful moonlight skinnydips), I had become very comfortable with being nude. I just had not been nude around other people. But I was so comfortable with it, I was sure that I would have no problem with being seen nude. My only real anxiety was about not knowing the little "unwritten rules" about being in a nude situation. When I did get nude the first time, I found I was right; I had no problem at all with being seen nude. It was incredibly comfortable, both physically and mentally, and very easy to get used to. And it is true what they say: you really do forget at times that you're nude. For first-timers who are really new to the nude experience, it probably won't be as easy to jump in and get used to it, but give it 5 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour...you will get so comfortable with being socially nude that you wonder why you ever had second thoughts in the first place. You saw above that I said a nudist lifestyle promotes healthy family values, and may be wondering what that means. What it means is children growing up in a family, and being comfortable and accepting with themselves, their other family members, relatives, and friends. Children of a nudist family grow up with far more understanding, acceptance, and openness to all other people, and without the shock and embarrassment of the nude body that is so often imprinted in the minds of kids in non-nudist families. [Suuuuure, I can talk.....I was raised to be hysterically modest about being seen nude. But you know what? I began thinking for myself, and making my own sensible and logical decisions.] For more information about family naturism, see this page from the "205 Arguments and Observations in Support of Naturism": Naturism is healthy for the family I won't go into much more detail here, because rather than typing my fingers off, all the same information, policies, and philosophies can be found in the links provided below. Many of the links also contain some pictures of people who (surprise! surprise!) are not wearing any clothing. Appalled? Get over it! You've been notified, so don't come complaining to me if you don't like what you see. They are tasteful pictures; you WILL NOT find pornography. Happy nuding! |

Net Nude, a great online source of information about naturism. A lot of links and information on the home page, plus an extensive message board (currently with about 31 topic areas), and a chat room to talk with other nudists. Chat offers various formats; I use "ichat Active-X Control (MSIE)"; and chat requires signing up with the free membership. Both chat and forum are a greatly valuable resource for asking questions and getting information, or telling your own stories of nudism. Includes the weekly Nudie Cartoon. Excellent site!
The American Association for Nude Recreation. Much information, resources, etc. Directories for nude or C/O resorts and clubs. AANR now has a legal action/political lobby team to support and promote naturism in the areas of lawmaking and nudist rights.
The Naturist Society. See TNS's "205 Arguments and Observations
in Support of Naturism", either in their SECTIONAL FORMAT, or download the ADOBE ACROBAT PDF (203k). EXCELLENT! Great for helping to convince someone how valuable nudist activities and lifestyles are. NOTE: Sectional format doesn't properly show numbers in the text to correspond to the footnotes. The PDF file is recommended. |

A CUTE SONG TO BREAK THE MONOTONY | (sung to the tune of "The Battle Hymn
of the Republic") I wear my pink pajamas in the summer when it's hot. I wear my flannel nightie in the winter when it's not. And sometimes in the springtime, and sometimes in the fall, I jump right in between the sheets with nothing on at all. Glory, glory hallelujah! Glory, glory, what's it to ya', Balmy breezes blowing through ya' With nothing on at all! |
