For Janet Evanovich writing wasn't what she thought she'd do for a living. She spent four years at Douglas College wearing torn jeans in the art dept. But painting never felt quite right. Somewhere in the middle of motherhood, Janet realized that she'd started painting the stories she'd written instead of writing stories about what she painted. So she retired her brushes and bought a typewriter. These days Janet works on a computer and she's moved from writing romances to mysteries. Not that anyone's complaining, everyone loves the characters in her Stephanie Plum series. Janet seems to have a knack for writing about the ridiculously funny and interweaving odd-ball characters into an always exicting storyline.

Days filled with classes, nights delivering pizzas and caring for three eccentric old ladies she'd rescued from the train station, didn't leave much time for courting -- but Jake thrived on a challenge, and he could be very inventive, planting seductive fantasies in Berry's brain, and smoldering kisses everywhere he touched! Could he teach her there was time to make butterscotch pudding and let herself be loved?

Back to the Badroom

For months he'd thought of her as the Mystery Woman, draped in a black velvet cloak, with outrageous red curls, flawless skin, and carrying a large, odd case -- but the night David Dodd saw a helicopter drop a chunk of metal through the roof of his lovely neighbor's bedroom, he got to meet the formidable and delightful Katherine Finn at last1 Rescuing damsels and fixing roofs was dangerous work, he told her, and at the very least he deserved a kiss -- didn't he? Kate couldn't argue with David's logic, but how could she, the driven concert musician with more commitments than hours in the day, be falling head over heels for a likable cuddler who seemed to be drifting through life? No one had ever made her feel as cherished or desirable, and she'd never had so much fun, but even though her eccentric boarder, Elise, assured her that where Kate was concerned Dave had plenty of ambition, could she really love a guy who was just smart, sexy and rich?

The Rocky Road to Romance

When the delightful, daffy Dog Lady of station WZZZ offered to take in the temporary job of traffic reporter, Steve Crow tried to think of reasons to turn Daisy Adams down! Perhaps he knew that sharing the close quarters of a car with her for hours would give the handsome program director no room to resist her quirky charms. He'd always favored low-slung sports cars and high-heeled women, but that was before he fell for the free spirit who caught crooks by accident, loved old people and pets, and had just too many jobs! Loving Daisy turned Steve's life upside down, especially once he adopted Bob, a huge dog masquerading as a couch potato-but he made cuddling on the sofa a wonderfully tight squeeze! When he wooed her with homemade brownies and teased her with passion she'd never even dreamed existed, Daisy felt her resistance melt like butter on hot popcorn. Playing with Steve was more fun than a basket of puppies, but was she finally ready to play for keeps?
