~~ A BRIEF INTRODUCTION, AND THE LINKS ~~
This page is My Celebration Of My Recovery! Hoping that you enjoy your visit, and that you "take what you like and leave the rest"! You may use any of this page For Your Own Personal Use Only!
The "Spike" stories, which I wrote, are an allegory for anyone in recovery. They are upper-elementary &/or early adolescent specific" stories about a young boy named Spike who is learning to recover from the effects of family alcoholism. "My Name Is Not Stupid!", "There's Got To Be Another Word For That....", "If I Close my Eyes & I Can't See You, Then You Can't See Me Either, Right?"...... and so the stories evolve with Spike's adventures!
I've maintained my sobriety many a day by following Rule #62: "Don't take yourself so damn seriously!" (12 & 12, in the 4th Tradition) The original-art cartoon & poster gallery is the result.
The major parts of my background include my own years
of recovery, being a 7th grade classroom teacher, being an educational
resource in a life-issues/recovery bookstore, completeting 3/4ths of a
masters-in-counseling, being the office manager and helper with my
partner's photo technical services business, and various free-lance computer projects...... I've moved from California to Maine to New Mexico..... from active alcoholism to sobriety.... See where all that's led me!
