Hello, lovers of Literature, Web Adventurers, and Browser-Extraordinaires.
Welcome to the very first (and hopefully not the last) edition of Scribble.
The idea behind Scribble, is to provide a place for Writers to have their work displayed on the World Wide Web. Of course, this is hardly an original idea, but very few ideas are these days.
A note to the sceptical: Please remember, this is only Volume one, Issue One. Things are going to be a bit rough. But keep in mind, everyone has to start somewhere. As this is my first attempt a publishing an E-Zine (if that is the right description), this will also provide some writiers with their first taste of public exposure. That is what Scribble is all about.
One last thing. Again, since this is issue one, it may seem to be a bit top-heavy with material written by yours truely. That will change. As it stands, I am grateful to those individuals who were willing to contribute to this first issue, and I hereby publicly get down on my knees and kiss their feet.

About Scribble...

Scribble is named for a small, spiral-bound notebook, the likes of which I have carried with me everywhere for years. No matter where I was or what I was doing, I always had something to write in; my "ScribbleBook."

Much of the writings in my Scribblebook never see the light of day again, I admit. However, every now and then, I somehow manage to turn out something that I am proud of. Something that I want to share with others.

That is what I want Scribble to be. A place for people to share their writings with the world.

As I have said before, It is not my intention for Scribble to be nothing more than an exposé of my own writing. Yes, there is plenty of stuff in here that I am the author of. I hope you enjoy it. In the future, as more and more people submit their work, my role will be reduced to Publisher/Editor. In the meantime, one must fill the gaps.

How to submit to Scribble...

I am accepting submissions for future editions.
I ask that all submissions be orginal; that is, send in your own work, not someone elses.

Scribble is a free WebSight. It does not sell advertising, nor any other services common to electronic media (ie; Subscriptions, e-mail, etc). Scribble generates no money for it's Editor, nor anyone else involved with it's publication. As such, all contributions must be sent with the understanding that there will be no monetary compensation. All rights to materials submitted are retained by their authors.

I am looking for original poetry; I am not a poetry lover, but I appreciate it as an artform. And, as a man once said, "I may not know much about art, but I know what I like."

I am looking for short stories of 1500 words or less. I am open to most genres, but keep in mind that this is NOT an 'Adult oriented' site. Keep things taseful, please.

I also would like commentaries about the world in general. For this, I ask that things be New. That the subjest you choose be of a matter that is not constantly in the Daily news (ie: petty political b.s., "Family Values", abortion and/or Religion). We get too much of that crap as it is. Be creative.

If you have something that doesn't quite fit into any of that, send it anyways. I have a section entitled Odds N' Ends which was made especially for those pieces that I don't know what to do with.

Please keep in mind, that as author and Editor of Scribble, I am the soul authority as to what is placed within this site. Submitting a piece does not necessisarily mean it will be published. However, everything will be responded to, personally, by the Editor.

Please send all submissions to the following address:

scribblemag@hotmail.com
Feel free to include graphics

the Dan page
For those who are interested in the author/editor of Scribble, Check out the DAN page. As I have said, This site is not to glorify myself; I do enough of that as it is. But those who really want to know about me now have a place to go. Also, within the Dan page, is technical information about Scribble and the tools that were used to create it. You can also find a number of links to the sort of sites that make the WWW such a great place. Along the way, I've managed to pick up a couple of Awards. Yeah, no kidding! They're displayed here. Other than that, there's a lot of junk. It's kind of a test page, I s'pose. I don't know. Try it out, if you wish.
