What can I say? I'm too old to be in BYF now. Heck, the kids I used to lead are getting too old for BYF now. But this page will forever exist... just don't expect (m)any more updates.
After this tasty treat, go to the OFFICIAL page (if it ever gets done): ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW
The most angelic group of kids in the world... NOT! Well, the Benjamin Youth Fellowship
is famous for it's unique initiation process... ahem! {{{{dogpile!!}}}} We meet on
most Friday nights and basically praise God with songs, pray together, share together and most of all, HAVE FUN together! The fellowship is for highschool-aged students, grades 8-12, from all over Greater Vancouver. We got some from Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond and North Delta!
Just for the heck of it, here are shout-outs to all the BYF-ERS!!
Nathan (Nat-hug?), Ben (aka RoBEN), Elleena, Joel, Bryan, Masashi, Phil, Duncan, Keian, Johnny, Carson (aka Carfu), Tyson, Kandie, Grace, Joyce, and the other Joyce!, Jennifer, Carol, Eva, Winnie, Isaac, and all da rest!!!!
RULES TO Calvin BYF BALL!
This is our version of "paper ball tag", established on Feb. 19, 1999. I thought it turned out pretty well so now the rules are forever inscribed on the world wide web, as follows...
Must throw with the opposite hand (lefties throw right, righties throw left).
No tag-backs.
The piano is the safe-zone.
You can only stay in the safe zone for 5 seconds.
You can only use the safe zone twice.
Aim for the butt.
Once tagged, you have to do three "ballerinas".
You must throw from at least 6 feet away.
No face-shots.
No fighting.
Hey look! It's CYCLOPS! *LOL*
Remember last last year's summer camp? Here's something to bring back some memories for you... ROOTS '97
By the way, I think Jars of Clay are pretty cool... these are lyrics to one of their coolest songs,
"Liquid" (in case ya didn't know).
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power
is from God and not from us." ~2 COR. 4:7~
YOUTH SPECIALTIES has one of the best resource sites for youth leaders and youths too!
For those of us too glued to the 'net to do devotions, now we can do it online with Campus Journal, or whatever your favourite is!
Here's our "favourite" Christian band, Doulos! These guys truly are musically gifted and have a heart for God. (AND Martin is Ben's good buddy, heehee)
