This rocker features Simon on vocals and guitar, with JT on vocals and drums. Nigel fills out the rhythm section on bass. The song was recorded May 23, 1987 and we still like listening to it ten years later. Despite the title, it's not a ballad and it's not about accountants... There's no place like a concrete, unfinished basement for jamming out tunes like these! |

Ahh, those orbs of delight! Mounds of magnificence! Source of nourishment for millions! Here is the Lads' ode to the region between the neck and the waist "Fun Bags Part 1", recorded December 28, 1988. Such adolescent twaddle could only be purveyed by JT on vocals, Noddy on backing vocals, Nigel on keyboards and beatbox, Simon on guitar, and Percy on thwackety thwack bass. It's basically a new wave (remember new wave?) funk anthem to women who do not suffer from excessive eye contact. |

And now we unleash this bizarre little number on the world. No idea what it's about, really. Enjoy. Oh yes, it was the first song recorded in our November 4, 1994 jam session. Noddy handles vocal duties, Simon the lead guitar, JT the drums and fish sounds, with Nigel on boogie bass and backing guitar. |

Frozen fingers lug cold mike stands and drum hardware in from the snow. Boots slip on icy sidewalks as the Lads assemble ten thousand bucks worth of rented amps, mixing consoles and speaker cabinets. Another 10 cases of beer, another jam session begins. January 16, 1988 and the weather outside reflects itself in Arctic Skies. Nigel opens with relentless, pulsing synths like puffs of frost from blue lips. Simon picks off a hypnotic bass line and howls the chorus like a lone wolf on a faraway mountaintop, and JT drives a sidestick rhythm. Noddy sings of endless, crystalline wasteland. Sort of like the suburbs in January. |

Pearls of wisdom you won't find in this song, but we think it rocks. The quintessential core of the Lads assembled November 21 1987 to record Pearls, including Noddy on vocals, Simon on guitar, Nigel on keyboards, JT on drums, and Percy on bass. |

What's the frequency, Kenneth? And what's the recipe today? On November 27 1993 the ingredients for this Recipe were Noddy on vocals and tambourine, Simon on backing vocals and shakers, Nigel on guitar, and JT on drums. Tasty. |

Radicalism had replaced conservatism; a copy of "Soldier Of Fortune", dogeared at the how-to section, was testament to that fact. April 24 1993 and JT crams as many lyrics as possible into a musical phrase while drumming at the same time. Nigel handles guitar duties, with Simon on bass. And we all belt out the chorus. An explosive hit. |

A night of jamming draws to a close, and nubile women rest languidly on basement sofas, gazing at the Lads. Well, they would be resting if there were actually women here. Empty pizza boxes lie atop the speakers, and the smoke is thick at 3:30 in the morning. Well, it would be if any of us smoked. Anyways, I'm trying to set the mood here! It's really late on April 24 1993 okay?? And Nigel lays down some cluster chords on piano, tracking over the bass. JT brushes the drumkit languidly (there's that word again!) while Simon noodles the guitar. All inspired by Noddy leaving for someplace far, far away into the dark night. |

Sunday April 25, 1993. One of those formerly skinny-dipping Saucy Lasses is hanging around. And JT is trying to mumble his way through some saucy lyrics while concentrating intently on his guitar playing. Nigel, thankfully, gets to hide behind the ride cymbal for awhile, and Simon and Noddy pretend to sing backing vocals. |

The Lads' answer to The Crying Game. Or maybe the other way around, since the movie came out in 1992 and this was recorded November 20, 1987. It's a tad saucy, so beware. The standard band lineup is here, including Noddy on vocals, Simon playing slide guitar, Nigel on electric piano, Percy boogying (boogieing?) on bass, and JT keeping the beat. |

Ephemeral, ethereal keyboards float like kerosene on water over this piece, recorded November 4, 1994. Noddy lights the vocal match while Nigel provides the gaseous keyboards and tracks over the bass line. Could that be JT duelling Simon on acoustic guitar? Simon also contributes backing vocals, which you don't get to hear because the chorus has been, um, censored. This is a family site eh? (!haey ,haey ,haey ,nwod "kcurterif" taht nruB) |

Here's a sample from JT's "dark ballad" era, not to be confused with his "Neil Young" era. It's one for all you dyslexic people out there (you knwo who you aer). Stop Sign was recorded November 28, 1992 at the grand opening of Noddy's New Den Of Iniquity...more fun than a one dog orgy! JT weighs in with vocals and bass, Noddy provides backing vocals, Simon favours us with his acoustic guitar and yet more backing vocals, and Nigel handles the keyboard duties with aplomb (what's a plomb?). |

Possibly the most romantic song ever recorded, Baby Feel Again is so alluring that upon hearing it you will want to rip your clothes off and do the wild thing with the first person you see (so be careful who's in the room when you listen to it). Baby Feel Again was lovingly crafted on November 22, 1987. JT croons lead vocals and caresses the drums, Simon fondles his guitar and moans backing vocals, Noddywhispers sweet nothings, Nigel strokes the keyboards and Percyspanks the bass. |

Petal Wave distills the entire philosophy of the Saucy Lads into one really crappy song. Just as the Lads embrace a variety of musical styles, refusing to be categorized, this song combines elements of metal, new wave and punk. The song itself can be easily categorized -- it's crap! However, this lyrical snippet reveals the true raison d'etre of the Lads. (Raison d'etre means "reason to be". The "e" in "etre" is supposed to have a little hat over it. Sorry.) This song was cranked out on May 23, 1987 by Simon and Noddyon vocals and beer bottle percussion, Nigel on keyboards and beatbox, Percyon spackity spack bass, and JT on the drums and intro vocals. Unless you want insight into the Lads don't bother downloading it. It's crap. |
