Hurricanes to Affect North Carolina 1950 - 1999
Hurricanes run in cycles. I am lucky enough to be living my highschool carreer during another one of the major peaks in Hurricane activity. I say that I am lucky because I am a surfer, and the highlight every year on the East Coast is the hurricane season. This site will cover the hurricanes that have affected North Carolina during this most recent cycle, starting in 1997. I will be updating this page throughout the year, giving information on each new hurricane spotted.

1999
1999 was a very memorable year for all surfers along the east coast. The surf was amazing from New Jersey down to Florida. The waves ranked better than the the pacific coast for the five weeks of nonstop surf that was seen along the east coast, thanks to these hurricanes.
