I once loved a girl more and more every day Until my deep love started slipping away 'Cause with my true heart she decided to play Down a path through a garden she long let me stray. For more than two years I stayed near by her side With veiled disappointment hiding times that I cried While shedding my hurt and capping my pride I wished that my love would please be my bride. But no matter my heart and try as I might It became so impossible to make things alright Indifference and distance, slow killers in the night Now dimmed from her sight, my love and our light. Whereas this at first made me so very mad In fact it is nothing but quite truly sad 'Cause by taking from me precious things I once had: Complete trust and pure love ... nobody's glad! |
