I have been looking forward to Nada and Geoff visiting tonight. We were going to have a dinner party. On Thursday, yesterday, I went shopping at Pick 'n Pay and at Fruit and Veggie City to find all the ingredients for the menu chosen. Preparations on Friday afternoon for the menu. To start off the evening we sat on the balcony and had a sundowner. From our balcony we have a lovely view on to the city, all the city lights and the sea in the distance. |

Later we moved inside and had dinner. I was quite curious to learn what these dishes, which I have taken from a cooking book, were going to taste like. Surprisingly the starter ( Avocado and Smoked Salmon Timbale - a recipe from Kronendal Restaurant in Hout Bay) was very nice, somehow different. The main dish (Summer Chicken Curry) was a variation of my own of other recipes I had found in the books. The dessert (Chocolate Mousse) was from Cadbury's. White wine with the fish (and the curry) - Cuban coffee with the dessert. |
