Christmas Dinner Shows12.31.03From December 2 through December 24, 2003, Akina held 15 dinner shows in 10 cities around Japan. She performed the following songs:
Concert DVD12.17.03A new DVD "I hope so ~ Akina Nakamori Live Tour 2003" (UMBK-1073) is now on sale. The DVD features footage from Akina's performance at Tokyo International Forum on July 11, 2003 during her summer concert tour. In this ballad concert, Akina performs 18 songs including a selection of songs from her album "I hope so" and classics such as "Slow Motion" and "Nanpasen."

New Album12.3.03On December 3, Universal Japan will release "Utahime 3 ~ Shuumaku", Akina's third CD in her series of cover albums, which began with 1994's "Utahime" and was followed by "Zero Album ~ Utahime 2" in 2002. This entry, the last in the "Utahime" series, features songs that were originally performed by male artists including Ishihara Yujiro, Inoue Yosui, Maekawa Kiyoshi and Cool 5, Matsuyama Chiharu, Anzen Chitai, B'z, Murashita Kozo, Minami Yoshitaka, Gamu, Go Hiromi, and Uzaki Ryudo. 2003 Concert Tour - "I Hope So"Akina's 2003 summer concert tour began May 15 and concluded on her birthday, July 13. The tour had a largely ballad concentration and differed as well from previous years' tours in that such signature songs as "Desire," "Meu Amor é," and "Kazarijanainoyo Namidawa" were not among the songs performed. Instead, Akina performed a number of songs from her latest album "I Hope So" in addition to a mix of older singles and album selections:

New Album6.3.03Akina's newest CD is a ballad album entitled "I hope so" released by Universal Japan on May 14, 2003. The album includes 10 original songs (including the single "Days") along with 4 instrumental selections. Two versions of the album are available (UMCK-9035: limited edition release with DVD and UMCK-1162: standard CD only version). Please refer to the Discography for additional details.
New Single6.3.03Akina's new single is entitled "Days" (UMCK-5094) released by Universal Japan on April 30, 2003. Coupling with the title track is "Hana" and the Matsuda Seiko cover "Ruriiro no Chikyuu."

2003 Concert Tour Schedule1.28.03Great news fans! Akina will once again be performing summer concerts in 2003! Slated to run from mid-May through early July, the concert tour will include twenty dates. As announced by Faithway, the schedule is as follows:

Kouhaku Appearance1.19.03Akina made an appearance on NHK's 53rd Annual Kouhaku Utagassen (Red-White Singing Contest) which was broadcast on New Year's Eve. It was her first appearance on the show after a lengthy absence of 14 years. Akina's up-beat performance of "Kazarijanainoyo Namidawa" featured the musical arrangement from her latest album "Utahime Double Decade."
