Do you like to sing?Become a member of the Washington Sängerbund, a traditional mixed chorus founded in 1851 in Washington, DC. Join us for inspiring and fun choral singing followed by Happy Hour.
Rehearsals are on Friday at 7:00pm from late August through early June.
We are located on the west side of Wisconsin Avenue approximately five blocks south of the National Cathedral (in the block below the intersection of Wisconsin Ave and Calvert St). Click here for a Map. To join the Washington Sängerbund as a singer just attend our rehearsals. The conductor will help you select the proper voice section. After attending four consecutive rehearsals a new singer will be officially voted in and "sung in" (welcomed with a song). Non-singing members may come by the clubhouse any time we are rehearsing. We welcome non-singing members as they provide frequently needed assistance at our various functions. We are always grateful for such helping hands. The Washington Sängerbund is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors that employs the conductor, sets policy, and manages administrative tasks. The Washington Sängerbund performs three to four concerts per season, often with contracted soloists and instrumentalists, or in collaboration with other orchestras or choruses. In addition, the Washington Sängerbund has a cultural/educational component which may include a Fasching (Mardi Gras) Ball, Oktoberfest, and Christkindlmarkt.
Please visit our other web pages for additional information on our concerts and conductor and cultural/educational events.
