Saturday, September 27, 2008, 11:00am - 5:00pm - Oktoberfest in Lovettsville, VA.
Held in downtown Lovettsville, Virginia, located off Route 287 (Berlin Pike) in Loudoun County. Delicious German food served by the Washington Sängerbund. You can find us right in front of the big Oktoberfest tent. Afternoon performers under the tent include the Blaskapelle 'Alte Kameraden' and the Alpine Dancers.

Delicious German food served by the Washington Sängerbund. Performances by the Alpine Dancers, live German music by the Edelweiss Band. Held on streets outside Capitol City Brewing Company, 2700 S. Quincy St., Shirlington. Directions: The exit from Shirley Highway (#395) if you are driving north is #6, between King Street (#5) to the south and Glebe Road (#7) to the north. If you are driving south, take Exit #7 for the "Shirlington" exit, and follow sign to Shirlington. The Village at Shirlington is WEST of Shirley Highway.)

Saturday, November 1, 2008, 1:00 pm - Singing at memorial service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 2201 North Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002. This is the burial site of many prominent German-Americans, including Julius Viedt, the first president of the Washington Sängerbund.
Saturday, November 22, 2008, 7pm - Annual Fall Concert ‘Im Wald und auf der Heide’
A presentation of popular German folksongs plus selections from Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Lehár and others.
Conductor David Montgomery. Soloists Brooke Evers, soprano; Rick Novak, tenor; Don Christian, bariton; David Montgomery, piano.
Held at the conveniently located Scottish Rite Center, 2800 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20009. Reception and dancing in the ballroom of the center following the concert.
Saturday, December 6, 2008, 7:00pm and 8:pm - Christmas at the Brewmaster's Castle
At the Heurich Mansion the Washington Sängerbund will perform German Christmas music and lead a sing-along with familiar Christmas carols. Doors open at 6:00pm for guided tours. Refreshments. Donations go toward the upkeep of the building. 1307 New Hampshire Ave, NW, Washington, DC, a short walk from the Dupont Circle Metro stop.
