It seems like I can never take time
to write on this thing anymore. It's been a great past month, and I
hope I can keep you all up to date. Jacob's Well (that hip group
from Seattle, WA) flew in a few weeks ago. What a privilege it was
to share the stage and the gospel with Rob Loomis and Elise Schmidt.
We ended up playing all over the place, even making some time to do a live
interview on 88.3 WGWG. Of course the first show together was
opening night for the Get Real Worship Rally. Everyone says opening
night is always full of things going wrong....and I will join them in
saying that. It took forever to set up the stage, sound system,
lights, etc, etc etc... and the kitchen sink. It's all part of the fun,
eh?
After Rob and Elise flew back I was able to
hang out with Shane Barnard and Shane Everett while we set up for the
concert in Kings Mountain. Shane and Shane produced JW's CD, and is
on tour in support of their InPop Records release, Psalms. The guys
have been independent since we can remember, and this new release makes
their transition into the "big market".
I'm excited to announce that I'm not singing by
myself anymore! Yeah, even I get tired of hearing my "raspy, cool, 30
yr old voice" as John Mayes so well put it. Ashley Morton has
decided to join me on occasion to lead worship and do whatever else I
do. We just did the See You At The Pole - Post Rally in Burlington,
NC this past wednesday. God is just awesome in providing things!
Yeah so enough rambling from JP.... ~logos!
