So
here I am 7 hours away from taking a midterm and I'm still awake. I
was just thinking about the past few weeks at how God has been speaking to
me. On October 1, I saw Caedmon's Call, Randall Goodgame, and Sandra
McCracken in concert. I've listened to Randall's stuff before, but
this was the first time I was going to be able to see him live. To
put it simply, he was flat out phenomenal. He has written a song
called Jerusalem that has plagued my soul since I first heard
it. After I left the concert, I had a 45 minute drive by myself down
through the mountains of North Carolina. I set my CD player on
repeat and listened to the song over and over. It was pitch dark, no
cars on the road. The stars shined brighter than ever before, the
lights of houses glistened from the heights of the mountain. The
moment was very awe-inspiring to say the least. At one portion right
before 74 broke off from I-26, there was a cross standing at the top of a
mountain. The cross was brightly lighten, and it caused me to
think. I began thinking about how deprived I was as a sinner.
I was dead in my transgressions, there was nothing I could do to save
myself. To have God himself become flesh and pursue His bridegroom
by dying for us, leaves me speechless. The word was made flesh, and
through the flesh light was given unto the world that they may believe.
Seeing the cross lit up amongst the darkness of the night was a beautiful
portrayal of His love for us. So that's what has led me to post
tonight...or morning rather...
Jerusalem - Randall Goodgame
Father God, Holy One
I believe Thy will be done
Great or small my portion be
Still I know You filled the sea,
You filled the sea
chorus I am Jerusalem
I am the temple of the Lord
I am Jerusalem
I am the temple of the Lord
Holy of Holies,
the Lord dwells within
Lord God Almighty, Maker of men
I am Jerusalem,
I am the temple of the Lord
Of Aaron's tribe, only a chosen few
Dared to lift the vail
and dwell with You
Then you came to die, but not to fail
Behold the Lam,
the Lamb that tore the vail
chorus
Father God, Holy One
I believe They will be done
From the tempter's charms,
Spirit hold me sway
And with the leper's joy
Lord I'll obey
Yes, I'll obey
