DAMAGED CHILD

Inside the woman there hides a damaged child,

a child who has seen too much

A child who cries at night

and pulls away from every touch

A child who learned too soon

about betrayal of trust

A child who lost her soul

in one moment of brutal lust

She hides away and watches the world

through the woman's eyes

and every time that child cries out

a part of the woman dies
