She lies in the dirt

BY  K.T.

She lies in the dirt

Fighting to keep the purity she has not yet known

And as it is taken, ripped from her body

She understands that the thief

Wants her honor

He wants her to bleed for him

The thief will take her baby soul

And she fights

kicking, screaming

Bleeding, satisfying the thief

In the dirt

And it is a good fight

She holds on for her life

witha a knowing

that this battle is important

But she is small, a child

And he is powerful, a monster

He rips her soft, gentle, baby soul out

And pounds his fists into the empty spaces

left in her small body

Ands she weakens

Grows smaller

And Mommy does not help her

No-one believes her

And in that dirt, she lies

Silent, in this terrible place

Bleeding and lost. . . . still
