in this precious lifetime
each unto their own
to worship god's creation
and all the love he's known
forget the days of sorrow
and every soul he killed
remember just the glory
and the dreams fulfilled
a son of his, he murdered
to save us all a burn
and yet we kill the fathers
that take that godly turn
is murder truly evil
if god himself partakes
in this baneful action
it must be a mistake
06/13/99 Mem'ry's Worth
from that quiet child
we take the precious zen
and give it to the neighbor
for he is nearly ten
while the little girl is eighty
the boy is better still
for he is always smiling
and she's a little pill
so to the world we send him
with pockets full of gold
a map with thousand footprints
and eighty stories told
he'll sail a million miles
just to get away
but still, right here, remaining
the girl will be to play
and as the voyages closes
the boy shall look around
to see his little princess
lain upon the ground
beneath a bed a roses
atop a pinkish cloud
she rose to be an angel
he chose to join the crowd
and now he'll stay to wonder
and watch her in her mirth
forced to stay beneath her
and ponder mem'ry's worth
