The cloves and allspice give this pork pie a distunctive flavor!


1 1/2 pounds of ground pork.
1 medium onion, chopped fine.
1 to 2 small cloves of garlic, chopped fine.
1/4 teaspoon of pepper.
1 teaspoon of salt, or less.
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves.
1/2 teaspoon allspice..or to taste.

Place all ingredients in large frying pan or pot, cover the mixture with enough water to cover about 3/4 of the food.
SIMMER, stirring ferquently for a 1/2 hour.
Adjust the seasonings.

Line the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan with your pastry dough, or store bought one.
Pour your meat mixture into pie dish.
Cover with a top crust...making certain that you leave a nice center opening!
Place a small funnel of BROWN PAPER in center hole to let steam out.
Bake pie in a pre-heated oven 425*F, for 10 mintues, then turn doun the oven to 375*F, and continue to bake for another half hour, or until pie is golden brown.

Servers one or many.
You can make a quick beef gravy to go with it. I use a package mix, and add one small can of sliced mushrooms well drain to the gravy.
