Mrs. Ms. & Miss. America

God's Annointed Women of the World

Many Americans have tuned in for that final moment, during the Miss America pageant, awaiting the final decision to see who would be the new Miss America.

I remember playing dress up with my friends, and putting bath towels on our heads, to make up for the lack of long blonde hair we didn't have. We were little women with a purpose. Little women with a dream, to one day, become Miss America, or even Miss Universe.

Well, those days have long pasted me and the towel thing was a phase, believe me. Today, I see myself as a woman who loves the Lord with a specific purpose. God gave vision to us all, an idea or a created plan for our lives. For many years, I searched for my purpose in life, only to find that I've been doing it all along. My dreams and aspirations to help others, was a part of my daily routine. I want to empower and inspire, not just women, but anyone who will listen. To make a difference in life. My sister in law always tells the story of her sweetest wedding gift. I was just a little girl when they got married. I gave them my piggy bank filled with money. So I have an idea of my purpose, what about you?

The Miss America title holds many honors, but it also has restrictions and guidelines. As the reigning Miss America, you must hold yourself in honesty and integrity. If you are unable to do so, you will be replaced by the first runner up. The Miss America association is very firm on it's guidelines. God is the same way about His Word. We were created in the very image and likeness of God. Therefore, we have power and authority to do anything, according to His Word. If we want to own a business, it's our right! We have the authority. Nothing is impossible for us to achieve.

Miss America travels for one year, telling the world her story, and the accomplishments she's made, that helped her get where she is today. During most interviews, she shares her platform. (what she supports and believes strongly in.) Just as God has given us power to do anything, He has given us His Word, to not only build a platform, but to establish our platform in His Word. Healing, it's yours! Saved husband, it's yours! Deliverance from sins we hide from our family and friends, it's yours! As women of God, our platform is: Freedom through the Blood of Jesus! That platform alone, gives us authority and strength to do anything, just as the reigning Miss America's platform gives her authority to be a spokesperson for her cause.

One of the most gracious honors as Miss. America, is to be crowned before all the world. We too, shall have a beautiful crown, to bestow glory and honor, in the name of Jesus. Jesus left this world wearing a painful crown of thorns, but because of His great love for us, we shall leave this world, to receive a crown of righteousness, and a crown of life. Read 2 Tim. 4:8, Rev. 2:10.

If you never become the real Miss America on television, you can become Miss America for Jesus. I love the term Miss America for Jesus because it doesn't stop with America. Jesus died for the world, so that automatically makes us Miss Universe. Able to spread the gospel and win souls for His kingdom. Along with this prestigious title, we have such an awesome responsibility, to make sure we stay in accordance to the guidelines of the Word of God.

If you think you're undeserving of this title, think again. We've endured so much, and sometimes with little, or no support. If no one is in your corner, rallying for you to win the title of Miss America, just remember you already have the title through Jesus Christ. There's no need for competition. In birth, we take on our father's name. In marriage, our husband's name, and in Christ, our identity is in Him. Heirs of God, joint heirs with Jesus. (Rom. 8:17)

Believe that you are a woman of royalty! Place your crown on your head, and let the jewels, from your crown, shine brightly, so the world can see Jesus in you. No one should be able to take your crown, unless you give it to them. Jealousy, envy, pride, unforgiveness and so on, can forfeit your title. Don't let that happen!

Whether you're a Mrs. Ms. or a Miss, you are God's Miss America, an anointed woman of the world!
