Poetry to encourage and change your life.

Ministry Through Poetry

Words are powerful, they create the atmosphere for our daily living. When we speak words of life, we give life and encouragement to those around us. We have the power to control our words. Poetry is a form of that control. It is an art that transcends casual communication. Poetry expresses and reveals the very heart of our emotions, thoughts and the way we view life.

You too can create life. It may not be through poetry, but you can create by saying what God says. Remember, death and life are in the power of your tongue. (Prov. 18:21) So use it wisely!

An Open Bridge by Monica Ware

Crystal clear waters, green, green grass,
Create a comely presence near an overpass.
Deer come to drink, birds bathe in calm,
Harden rocks develop to protect the smallest forms.
Over head erected tall and strong, stands a bridge
Connecting two sides of land, for anyone to cross along.
That's what God did for His people here on earth.
He gave His strongest Bridge ever, through a miraculous birth.
Without a doubt God knew we needed a Savior and friend.
To cleanse our unrighteousness and forgive all our sins.
Jesus came, died and rose again with ALL MIGHTY power.
He became a Bridge for the world, to unite us with God, our Father.
Accepting Jesus in your life is the greatest thing you will ever do.
He became a Bridge for me and He became a Bridge for you.

Take the next step that will change your life. Accept Jesus into your heart. Repent to God, Turn from your old way of doing things, Accept Jesus as
Lord of your life and Attend a church that will teach the word of God.
Jesus loves you! Write us & let us know about your great walk of faith!

Where is Your Confidence?
Where is your confidence, in what does it lie?
What makes you feel overwhelmed, what causes you to cry?
What's on your mind more than God, that causes you to fail?
And when you look in the mirror, your eyes cannot tell.
You search for hope and reasoning, but miss the mark each time.
As your mountain seems to grow, each step is harder to climb.
Where is your confidence, I ask?
What makes you feel secure?
Why haven't you just surrendered, cause when you think about it,
You've already endured?
God has placed inside you, His Spirit to climb every mountain.
And if you fall, get right back up, dust yourself off and do it again.
God has placed inside you, His power to succeed.
If you're in trouble, no problem, God equipped you with all you need.
Put your confidence in God, He's there to ease your pain.
Remember, if you fall, get right back up,
Dust yourself off and seek God again.

Sweeter to Love
Life would be miserable if we all continued to hate.
Hatred is a disease, but love is the medication.
Hatred rots the organs and dries up human tissues.
We see the evidence of this disease through the current issues.
Love is something hatred hates, love confronts our pain.
It releases us from bondage, then freedom is freely gained.
It's easy to hate, but hard to love, those who sin against you,
But remember, a disease left untreated will eventually kill you.
Why not let go, Forgive and move on, life is sweeter to love.
Try loving today and then again tomorrow,
Until one day, this disease is all gone.

This is a poem about Jesus going to the cross. I actually imagined His steps and thoughts before His death.

I Imagined
One day I imagined Christ on the cross,
I imagined each step that took place.
I imagined the betrayal that started the course
Of events for our Lord and Savior.
To know what lies ahead of you,
To know those painful thoughts.
Christ did not speak, He did not fight,
He was obedient throughout His walk.
I imagined how much patience it took,
For Him to go through and stay.
To stay on the cross, knowing the loss in
Relationship with God, yet He still obeyed.
I imagined seeing the followers of Christ,
I imagined them weeping and crying.
I imagined Jesus telling them to weep not,
For He knew that this world was dying.
He stayed on the cross to fulfill the law,
To fulfill it until the end.
And His resurrection followed His death and burial,
And that's where our New Covenant begins.

In celebration of Mother's Day, May 13th, I want to share a poem I wrote for my mother four years ago. When I wrote this poem, my mom was not a Christian. I had the privilege of reading this poem at her funeral. I praise God she gave her life to Him before she died of cancer, three years ago. I thank God for my mother, and I celebrate all mothers on this special day. God Bless!

Mama Believe
You raised me up to do the right things,
You raised me up to think.
To decide the things that are right from wrong.
To play with others and get along.
Your gift as a mother has blessed me so,
And I just had to say, your wisdom, your voice,
Your beautiful smile, can brighten up my worse day.
Now I'm all grown up, thanks to you.
You made a difference in my life.
But I had to encourage you, and let you know
Of the One who made the perfect sacrifice.
He died for you Mama, you and me,
And He never committed a sin.
He made it so that sinners like us,
Could have a way to get in.
To Heaven above, where God resides,
With Jesus at His right hand.
He did it Mama, for you and me,
And now we have to stand.
Believe that sickness is taken care of.
Believe that our hearts can mend.
Believe that we can love everyone.
Believe that Jesus is God's Son.
He died for us and rose again,
And all it took was three days.
Believe all these things that I have said,
And Mama we are saved,
From all the mess this world has to offer,
From all the hurt and pain.
Believe Dear Mama, in the Lord,
Because He'll never die again.
