Deuteronomy 30:19 says, "...I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." (NIV) Life is also in the words we speak. We have to be very careful not to choose words that can be destructive to us or others, in our daily walk with God. Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverbs is filled with scriptures about the words we speak. That should tell us something; speak words that edify, exalt and encourage and not words that tear down, taunt or tease. "Remember, the words you speak last longer than the words you keep." Meaning, whatever you say, will have an impact one way or another. Choose life in the words you speak. ~~Monica Ware |
