This section is written by teens, who are not ashamed of the gospel. They share their lives, visions, talents and dreams with us in, "Cross Talks" It's amazing how time passes us by. Now, it seems like there are not enough hours in the day, to complete all the things we have to get done. That's why it is extremely important to make sure our priorities are in order, and that we are living our lives for God, every second of the day. In these days, it is easy to procrastinate. The older you become, the more freedom you are given. However, with this freedom comes great responsibility. When you first get saved, you are considered a "baby" in Christ. During this time, you are nurtured by the other Christians around you. When you ask for something, you receive it without a lot of work done on your part. However, the older you become the more responsibility you have, to do things on your own. This doesn't mean that you are all by yourself; but it does mean that you have matured and God can use you to minister to others. In my opinion, teenagers feel they are exempt from a lot of things that go on in the church. Being a teenager myself, there were many times that I felt like I was jut another member in the congregation. I wanted to help spread God's Word, but I didn't see a place for myself, where I could be utilized. But what I failed to realize, was that I could reach the lives of many people my pastors and other adults in the church could not. WhenIforst got saved, in 7th grade, I witnessed and shared the things God was doing for me. I was on fire for God and I wasn't ashamed of showing it. I continued to grow spiritually, until I was a junior in high school, but in the 10th grade, I began to calm down and stop witnessing as much as I did before. Although I never did anything bad, peer pressure was a little hard to handle. People didn't want to hear about God, so I just stopped sharing. Before I knew it, that fire I once had in my life was gone. I still knew the Word of God and went to church, but it wasn't the same as it was before. Many teenagers, along with myself, feel like we have the rest of our lives to do what God has called us to do. It is very important to witness to those around us, while we still have the chance. We, teenage Christians, need to stop procrastinating when it comes to God's Word. There are so many teenagers that are looking for a place to belong. We need to share the love that God has given up with everyone, regardless of who they are. With all the school shootings going on, we know that we aren't doing our jobs, as Christians. If we minister to the hearts of some teenagers and tell them of God's love, there would be less hate and violence in the schools, and the world. We need to be bold for Christ like others are bold for what they believe in. If we would just stop and see what it is that God wants us to do for Him, instead of asking the question, "What can God do for me?" We would be better off. The more we open our hearts and give to God, the more He would open up the windows of heaven and pour us out a blessing so great, that we won't have room enough to receive it. So lets see how many people we could witness to before the clock strikes the year 2000. If LaToya's letter has influenced you to become more active for Jesus, write to LaToya at EVE. LOVE
I asked my mother what love is, she smiled and said,
If you are without God's Love, (Jesus) you won't make it.
