There is a solution
Part Four:
I've put this section on a seperate page in hopes that you didn't jump ahead before completing the first section of this assignment. These are in order for a reason and it would be to your advantage to take them as such, which is why each page is linked to the next assignment and all previous assignments, rather than having a full menu on each page. The Table of Contents is provided so that you can go directly to where you left off, but hopefully you won't peek ahead! You don't buy a book just to read the last couple of pages; it wouldn't make much sense if you did.
To proceed with the last part of this assignment, read aloud, to yourself in private, what you have written about the craziness in your life. And now, answer these questions:
Now, I want you to read the the page containing your God concept -- the first one you wrote -- and answer these questions to yourself:
Tear out this sheet of paper containing what you first wrote about God, rip it into little pieces and throw it away. That concept is an old idea which has to go. Next, read over the second page; the one you wrote about what you would like for God to be. This is your personal God. What you have described is exactly who God is, for you. The wonderful thing about God is, he is as personal and individual as each of us are. He meets us right where we are, according to our individual needs and understanding. And as we grow spiritually, our concept of God changes. What was the truth for me 10 years ago is not necessarily the truth for me today, or it remains only in part. As I grow, my God grows with me. You must understand that the Creator does not change -- *I* change, and therefore, my understanding changes. The Truth does not change, but as I develop and mature, my realization of the truth changes. What I was once comfortable with is no longer right for me, but that doesn't mean it is wrong for someone else. We cannot judge what is right and wrong for anyone but ourselves. We also cannot tell another who and what God and spirituality is to them. There is no ONE WAY of doing things, for that would mean we were all exactly alike; robots, or carbon copies. Just as each of us are unique individuals, different from anyone else while sharing the common thread of our humanity and spiritual natures, so it is with the Creator. He is unique, individual, and different to each of us, and yet he is the same Power. Please don't ever again try to make yourself accept another's version of God. Likewise, do not be guilty of trying to force your personal beliefs onto someone else. You now have made your first real progress in spiritual development. You have met God for the first time. From here, you will learn how to build a close, personal relationship with a God who will work wonders in your life!
