So far the world of Darker Days seems like any other cyberpunk world. The corrupt megacorps rule the technology addicted people in the crime ridden streets. But there's something else to this world. Something is very wrong with the way things turned out for the human race. Something dark and threatening...

This page is here to explain what's happened to the world to bring it to what it is today. Further more, these events came to a peak on June 2031.

I recommend that you, as the GM, start playing before the 13th of June 2031. start this world as a regular cyberpunk world and take the players through the strange events and into a different world. But if you are tired of the typical world, just start the game after June 2031 - take them directly into the world of Darker Days.

A note regarding psionics:
Psionics is used in the game ONLY after 13th of June 2031. When creating characters before that day, don't use the psionics rules (the characters simply don't have the psionics attribute). When creating characters afterwards, do calculate their psionics rating and let the players learn psionics related skills. If the characters were created before psionics was introduced to the world, but went through June the 13th during play, give them a psionics attribute rating at that day. From then on they are able to learn psionics skills using XP.
