"The Jerk"



A Brief Background: Fujikuro is a rival bounty hunter who appears in five of the episodes. The main motivating factor is his life is money and making sure he doesn’t meet an untimely demise. But by the end, he ends up helping Iria more and more.

Fujikuro’s biggest part in all the episodes was when he was hired to protect Iria after her arrival on Myce. Thanks to his efforts, Iria discovered that the Tedan Tippedai Corporation had been planning on using Zeiram as a weapon. Fujikuro was even persuaded (at gun point) to take Iria to their headquarters.

He also saves Iria’s life again when some flying zeiramoids take out the dempadan that she’d been flying. But even that small bit of kindness doesn’t go unrewarded. Fujikuro, being the opportunist that he is, promises to send Iria a bill for services rendered.

He then makes his exit, and is forced to battle more zeiramoids to escape. Fujikuro just scowls, takes out his gun, and mentally adds it to Iria’s bill.

The Yeti’s Thoughts: Fujikuro is the one of the funniest characters to watch, from the very beginning of the series you instantly get a good idea about his relationship with Iria. Despite all my words about how nice it is to have moral bounty hunters, it’s still a nice change of pace to watch Fujikuro and his own selfish needs.

Even in all of Fujikuro’s arguing and talk of money, he still cares about what happens to Iria, even if he won’t admit it. Basically, he’s a mercenary who lives life by his next paycheck and let’s his conscience get the better of him on occasion.

Useless Trivia: Fujikuro thinks Bob intentionally gives him all the worst jobs.
