"The Streetwise Kid"



A Brief Background: Komimasa is a street punk who has been orphaned by his parents, along with Kei, he was in charge of a gang called the Dirty Angels. It was basically a group of kids that had banded together because they’d been forced to live on their own. Komimasa is in two episodes of Iria.

Komimasa was probably Kei’s one and only true friend. He would always look out for her and try to help in any way he could. When the pair escaped to Myce and ran into Iria, Komimasa naturally took charge because of Iria’s hesitation to fight the Gren zeiramoid.

He even went so far as to sacrifice himself so Iria could kill the beast. It became his final act, with Kei's name the last thing on his lips, Komimasa died.

The Yeti’s Thoughts: Komimasa is an interesting character, sure he may look like an ordinary street punk on the outside, but on the inside is a keen intellect. How else could a kid as young as him become the leader of a gang with kids twice his age? Simply put, he’s a criminal mastermind.

First, there was his plan to steal the Kreper which would have worked beautifully if Iria hadn’t intervened. Then, he escaped from Taowajan without anyone noticing, including Dr. Touka’s hijackers. He even saw through Kei’s lie about having a brother on Myce just so she could see Iria. No doubt about it, Komimasa was a shrewd one.

Useless Trivia: Komimasa fired the first shot at the Gren zeiramoid.
